Alexander the Great is the 1st episode of season 4 and the 40th episode of the series overall
Summary[]
While Babar and Celeste are traveling, Alexander wants to be king, but his siblings know it won't work out well. Things get crazier when the triplets and Uncle Arthur fly away, which means it's up to Pompadour and Cornelius to get them home safely.
Plot[]
Both Babar and Celeste are going on vacation to Paris for the day and Alexander asks them if he could be in charge while they are gone, both Pom and Flora think he is joking but Alexander says he is not. Babar tells them that Pompadour and Cornelius will be in charge of the palace while they are gone, Isabelle is staying with Madame and Arthur will be in charge of the triplets.
After they leave, the children go missing and Pompadour tells Arthur he should keep a close eye on the children. The three of them go to look for the children and they find them playing in an airplane (mainly Alexander) and Pom and Flora tell Alexander that it is not a good idea. Even the adults tell him not to, but just as he is about to get out, he accidentally starts the plane. Pompadour sounds the fire alarm and while they do have to explain what is going the fire dept. helps out. They catch up to the plane, unfortunately Alexander accidentally has it take off and Arthur jumps on in time. Cornelius, Pompadour and the Fire Department head back to the palace to form a search party. The four are flying and Alexander tries to keep pressing buttons but his siblings tell him to stop as he has goofed up, Arthur assures Alexander he's not a goof up. He decides to let Alexander radio the airport to let them know, unfortunately instead of turning on the radio he ends dumping their fuel now he has goofed up and they are now falling out of the sky.
Back at the Palace, Pompadour has hired a search party but Cornelius is unsure of this but Pompadour is confident they will find the children.
After landing, everyone is alright, even Arthur who is a little dizzy from the landing. Pom and Flora look around wondering where they are when Alexander swings from a vine. His siblings ask what he's doing and he claims this is like a fun park but Arthur steps in saying this is no time for playing. Alexander asks Arthur where's his sense of adventure, he tells Alexander that his sense of responsibility is higher as they are in uncharted jungle and need to leave as it could be unsafe.

- This is an episode where Babar is a minor character, in fact he is only seen in the beginning and end of the episode.
- This was the first episode to air in 1991
Goofs/Errors[]
- When the fireman come in through the door they break a hole in it, when they leave the room, the door is nowhere to be seen.
- Throughout the episode Alexander says he'll be king someday, but his brother and sister say he won't, this is because the oldest child is the heir to the throne, and unless the heir has children, the second and then third succeeds the throne.
