Radio Riot is the 13th episode of season 4 and the 52nd episode overall. This is also the season 4 finale

Plot[]

Zephir runs a radio station business at his ice cream shop while Flora, Pom, and Alexander invite Victor to play, but is unavailable to since his dad is giving him lessons on when he grows up, which makes Victor call Zephir about his issues he's having at home. This leads to all the kids in Celesteville going on strike and causing a riot from the kids.

Summary[]

Babar and Pompadour go over to the Malt shop and are surprised to find out that Zephir has gotten his own radio show called Zainy Zephir where he gets calls from kids and helps them out. It was thanks to Happy Harry his main producer and sponsor. The show is a complete success but Pompadour does not like Zephir's approach to the help he gives to kids, including having kids tell their parents they need a bigger allowance to telling kids to play their instruments badly so they don't have to play them anymore. All the children on the other hand love the show as a crowd surf takes place afterwards as well as an autograph party, Babar tries to talk to Zephir but only gets signed pictures. The next day the triplets go to Rhinoland and invite Victor to listen to Zainy Zephir at the Malt shop and then a bike ride afterwards but Lord Rataxes is giving him some lessons as he will have to be ready to lead Rhinoland. Soon at the Malt shop, Zephir continues to give crazy advice to the kids from getting dirty, to not eating their vegetables, to using their bed as a trampoline for exercise. Both Pompadour and Babar are not happy with Zephir's approach to helping the kids even the parents disapprove. Meanwhile, Victor wants to stop with the lessons but Rataxes will not listen as Victor needs to be ready to rule Rhinoland, eventually Basil lets him hear Zephir's show, and Victor calls in and tells him about his stubborn father and that he won't listen to him and Zephir then tells all the kids to take a stand for him, the kids in Celesteville then refuse to obey their own parents and do whatever they want and it doesn't take long for things to get wild.

When Rataxes finds out that Victor is on strike, he demands that Victor listen to him but he tells Rataxes to listen to him for once, that is what Zephir tells him, he then tells his father firmly until his demands are met, he's not doing anymore lessons. Rataxes eventually goes to Celesteville where all the kids are protesting at the Malt Shop and their rooms and both Pompadour and Babar are receiving calls about the kids strike and the only thing they can do right now is answer the phones. When Rataxes arrives at the Malt Shop he gives Zephir a piece of his mind and it doesn't take long for him to take over the show and gets the parents to strike as well. When Babar and Pompadour see what happened, they cannot really do anything about it especially since everyone in Celesteville is entitled to their opinions. Babar also points out that they only thing they could do is send everyone to their rooms. They tell Zephir to look at what he started, but Zephir insists that he never intended for any of this to get out of hand. Babar goes inside and tells Rataxes that he's made his point and he can stop, Rataxes says that Victor needs to learn leadership as he will be King of Rhinoland himself one day. Soon enough Victor shows up and tells everyone that while he appreciates their help, they weren't actually helping at all, they only made things worse, he tells the kids that they should instead talk to their parents if they have a problem. Rataxes is amazed at his son's speech, Victor then wants to talk to his dad in private so he can sort things out the right way. Zephir doesn't care that they are using the malt shop, especially since Rataxes ate all the ice cream.

The next day, Zephir's show gets canceled (his radio box is being dismantled), Zephir says that his radio days are over but it was a great run. Babar asks what happened, especially since radio shows get canceled due to low ratings. Zephir says that Happy Harry is still negotiating with his 6 children since they are still on strike. The triplets ask Victor if they could hang out but Victor says that he is going to be spending the day with his dad and they go off on a fishing trip.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of the few episodes where Zephir takes center stage for an episode.
  • Victor can't get grounded for 6 months just because he insults his dad Lord Rataxes never letting him do whatever he wants, because his dad is actually the one that's being unfair. It also makes sense for Victor talking with his dad about his reasons why he's not being fair, because when someone is pushing you too hard, it's always best to talk it over with parents so that they can try to understand.
  • This episode shows that while Victor does show to be appreciative, he knows what the right approach to a problem is.
  • It's possible that Zephir's show was really cancelled because of all the complaints from the parents.

Goofs[]

  • When the kids say "strike strike, justice for kids" while exiting the malt shop, Victor is suddenly in the crowd right behind an elephant kid that's behind Pom, he's actually at home because he just called Zephir about putting him on strike.
  • Even though Rataxes ate all the Ice Cream at the Zephir's shop, he would never be able to do that and feel fine after.
